Today we worked on a couple Easter projects! We decorated our little Easter baskets that we'll use for our Easter hunt next weekend and we baked sugar cookies too. Busy fun day!
I've been waiting 9 years for this flower to bloom! It isn't what I thought it'd be, but it still is quite beautiful. Now I'm back searching for the flower I'm picturing in my head...Sure hope I don't have to wait another 9 years to see it blossom!Sunday, March 28, 2010

Sandi and Stevie Concert
Today at the Blackhawk Plaza, Sandi and Stevie were scheduled to have a concert. We've seen Sandi and Stevie in the past and they really put on a great show for kids. We'll we get there and we wait and wait - Sandi is setting up and ready to roll, but there is NO POWER! The power is on some type of timer and the people there couldn't figure out how to override the timer. Well the show started about 40 minutes late and by this time Bailey's allergies were driving her nuts and Gregory was starving so we left our spot on the grass after about 10 minutes of the show and stood in line to have the balloon lady make them a souvenir. Bailey decided on a flower and Gregory picked a dog. (I have to say earlier in the day she was making the most fancy balloon things! She had to change to simple stuff because her line was so long and she had to leave on time) Anyways, getting that little fancy balloon made the kids day!
Calico Cat was there too!

Happy 45th, Daddy!
The kids woke up very early today to wish Daddy a Happy 45th Birthday! His day started with opening his presents the kids wrapped especially for him and then he rested a bit more while we all made a pancake breakfast for him. We had planned to spend the morning at the zoo, but it was too cold and gloomy this morning so we ended up running errands instead. For lunch we made spam musubis while Daddy took a run and spent some time enjoying the nice afternoon weather (oh, and baking Daddy's birthday cake!). Daddy bbq'd for dinner and we all sang to him afterwards. Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Wake up, Daddy! It's your birthday today!

Spring Has Sprung!
Today was a beautiful Spring day and after we dropped Gregory off at school Bailey wanted to work on a craft project. I thought it'd be great to make some flowers to kick off the start of Spring next weekend so we stopped off at Joann's Fabric store to pick up some organza to make some beautiful flowers!

I forgot to take pictures of Bailey cutting out the petals, but you cut out circles, burn the edges (I did that part), and stack them up. Sew them together and add some shiny beads! So pretty.

Tilden Park
Gregory has his first fever free Saturday in about a month so we decided to take a trip to Tilden Park! We stopped by "The Farm" to feed the animals and to ride the steam train. The weather was PERFECT! 70 degrees! You'd think it was springtime. We had a great time.

Here's Bailey feeding the goats celery. We picked up two bunches on our way to Tilden.

Gregory saying he doesn't want to feed the animals because they are too big. The smaller animals are in a covered area so I took him over to see them, but that place was too dark. So he had a good time just walking around - far away from the animals

Beading
Gregory is finally well again (well, sort of) Anyways, well enough to go to school. So while he was at school today Bailey and I went to Michaels to look for a craft project for her play date on Monday. We found a cute little Easter egg project and while we were wandering around Bailey noticed all the nice pretty beads. I had recently seen a blog on beading with kids and saw the string she recommended using so we picked up a spool and chose some beads. This afternoon we made bracelets!

Saturday School Plates
At Saturday School the kids drew a picture that would be transferred to a plate. Bailey drew Hello Kitty (with Daddy's help) with a rainbow and flowers and Gregory drew a fire truck shooting water at a fire. Well, the plates came back from the company and we were able to bring them home! The really turned out cute. They are all washed and ready to use. :)
