Fun in the Sun!

Today the weather was warm so I decided to take the kids to play in the "pool."  I've known about this little play area for some time, but today was our first visit.  Kids had a blast!  The whole area doesn't get much deeper than 2 feet so it is safe for our non-swimmers ~ not great on the bathing suit or the knees, but none of that bothered the kids.  We'll have to make another trip soon!

We were here when they opened so it looks pretty empty.
But the place filled up quickly!
Bummer the slide was closed.
But there were plenty of other things to play on!

New additions to OUR family

Yesterday we went to the Stockton Buddhist Church bazaar for some tasty food and fun games!  Mommy is sitting inside with Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Frank while Daddy took the kiddies out to play and guess what they came back with!
A FISH!  Bailey won a fish tossing a ping pong ball into a jar

No winners here

Uncle ended up winning two more fish so we have THREE new buddies!  When we got home Uncle went to the pet store and fixed up this nice little habitat for our new friends.  The kids are quite excited!

Magic Nuudles

Today Camryn and Lukie came over for dinner and hung out with us so Uncle Ryan could take Auntie Joey out for a nice adult birthday dinner!  We had such a great time, but the highlight of our evening was playing with these nifty things called "Magic Nuudle"!  I found them at JoAnns and you can build things with them by just rubbing them on a lightly dampened paper towel.  (But if you get them too wet, they just dissolve so you've gotta be careful!) We played with them for over an hour!

Lukie built Thomas - actually he had a very long train at one point

Camryn built a scooter, a rocket and a faucet with water coming out of it. I'm not sure what she's showing us here

Gregory made all sorts of things - I think his main project was a rocket

Bailey helped Lukie with his train and made a nice little scooter too

Here's Camryn's rocket

New Addition(s) to the To Family!

Yesterday we went over to Oliver and Emma's house for dinner and look who they introduced us to!  They brought home TWO Guinea pigs from the adoption place.  Aren't they brave?
Here's Oliver with his new buddy Oreo

Emma's new friend is Buttercup

Now aren't they cute?!  (Especially since they are at Aunty's house!)

On the way home Gregory asked if he can have a Guinea pig too and you can all guess my response

Annual Reunion

Today my high school buddies and I got together and chatted the entire afternoon away!  We had lunch, LOTS of desserts and much to discuss.  So good to see them all again.  I wish we could get together more often, but it sure is nice that we are able to still get together at least once a year!

Apricot Jam Day

Today we had a jam packed busy day!  We went to Stockton along with Uncle Ryan and Aunty Joey, Camryn and Lukie to make apricot jam!  Actually, Grandma, Aunty and Mommy made jam and the rest of us had fun playing together.
This year Aunty Joey joined us in our yearly jam session and I think we'll be keeping her on!

We were able to make 10 batches of Apricot Pineapple Jam today!  ( a new record!)

While we were cooking away the kids had fun swimming

I think we'll have enough jam for the year!  (Gregory will be able to eat his soy nut and apricot jam sandwiches every day!)

After dinner the kids and Grandpa finished off the rest of the sparklers

Even Lukie joined in!

Then they all played with those glow sticks and these light up rings Grandma found

It was a fun day for everyone!

Apricot Picking

Yesterday I called around the U-Pick farms looking for apricots for jam.  Most of the farms were telling me the season was over a few days ago!  WHAT?!  No jam for the year?  What is Gregory going to eat for lunch?  Well, I finally found some at Enos Family Farms so today we drove out there to pick some beautiful Blenheim apricots!

YUM!  Tomorrow we are off to Stockton to make Apricot Pineapple Jam!

Fourth of July!

We celebrated the 4th in Stockton with Grandpa, Grandma, Uncle Frank and Aunty Ruth.  Daddy and the kids went swimming, we had a yummy steak dinner and ended the evening with FIREWORKS!  I love fireworks!
Happy Birthday, Uncle Frank!

Enjoying the show

Kids loved the sparklers

Vacation!

We made it back from our 12 days in Hawaii and I'm SO HAPPY to be HOME!  We spent 5 days in Kona and 7 in Honolulu.  The kids had the most wonderful time and Gregory would've loved to stay even longer.  We spent many hours on the beach, ate lots of shaved ice, dole whip and coldstone ice cream, walked many miles and ate and ate and ate!  Clark ran his very first marathon and is already planning a return trip to run it again!  We took the kids to the touristy spots we thought they'd enjoy and came home with many wonderful memories.
