Campfire

Today Daddy laid the last bits of lawn in our backyard around 1pm and decided to celebrate!  As soon as he kicked up his feet he discovered a leak in our sprinkler system.  He dug around and though he found the problem, we ran to OSH to get the parts and he fixed it!  BUT now he thinks the leak may be UNDER OUR PATIO!!?!  UGH.  Well, tomorrow's a new day...
While we were at OSH we picked up a little fire pit

The kids are quite excited

Look at our roaring fire!

The LEAK!

Was just a great way to end our day.  Can't wait for our next campfire!  OH!  And it even came with a grill so we can actually cook dinner over a fire.  All the best parts of camping right in our backyard! :)

My Baby Turns 7!

Today my baby turned 7.  Don't you all remember the day he was born?  Like it was yesterday?
This morning he took cupcakes we made yesterday to share with his classmates ~ He tells me they were a hit!

For Dinner he requested taco salad (actually he requested pot roast, but I didn't have time to make it today so we had it yesterday)
For dessert he wanted leftover pudding from his cake

Backyard and My BABY

Daddy ordered another shipment of sod yesterday and started to work on our backyard.  Unfortunately, it started to POUR so he had to take a break.  Today was a beautiful day so he laid all he ordered, but he ran out.  He was thinking he was going to have about 25 extra square feet, but he used every single scrap and we'll have to get more from Home Depot next week!

Also, we celebrated my baby's birthday.  When did he have time to turn 7??  UGH.  For his birthday weekend he wanted to go out to Buffalo Wild Wings, have pot roast for dinner and tomorrow (for his actual birthday) he wants Taco Salad.  OOOOHHHH, my baby is growing up TOO FAST!  (But he promises me he'll always be my baby!)

You can't really tell, but it is raining here

Today was beautiful, but the ground was soft

Now if you were ever wondering why Gregory is goofy ~ LOOK!

Looking good!

Working on the holes while he is saying "Don't bother me!"

See the fake rock?  It's hiding the sprinklers

Hmmmm, where are the sprinklers??

My Morning Surprise!

This morning the kids woke up early and while I was getting ready they were busy little bees...
This is from last weekend ~ We had a double rainbow next to our house!

It was so pretty!

Back to this morning...I walk out of my room and all the blinds are open and I'm not allowed in the kitchen.  The kids made their own lunches

And breakfast for all of us!  (me too!)
Tonight they said they will be helping with dinner too!

What a great way to start the day!!!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day!  We had a busy "work" day at home and really got a lot done.  The yard is cleaned up, our house is in order (most of it), our pergola is DONE and we were able to have dinner together on a MONDAY!
Gregory fertilized the lawn this morning

Daddy raked

Still making more rounds

Bailey and I clipped all the old agapanthas

It was getting to hot and humid out for me and Bailey so we came in and made pillows (for each of the Skylander Giants) and wristlet key fobs (so I don't have to lug around a bunch of keys when I take the kids to school.)

Gregory learned how to sand and drill today.  He's quite the little assistant!  Our old deck wood has been recycled into a pergola top

See no more chunks missing from the squirrel sharpening his teeth!
