Daddy's Birthday Weekend

Daddy turned 49 on Friday so he took the day off to celebrate!  While the kids were at school we went out for breakfast and ran some errands ~ they got out at noon so we couldn't do much, but it was nice to just hang out a bit!  We went out to Koji's for dinner and called it a day.  Saturday we were pretty busy with basketball so Sunday (today) we celebrated at home!  I think he had a pretty good birthday! :)  (Next year...50!!!)

Sunday breakfast ~ we always have Sunday pancake breakfast together, but today we made it special with some fresh squeezed orange juice!
My hanging baskets are filling in nicely

just sharing...the birds are loving that coconut husk basket!

We had steak, macaroni salad, swiss chard, broccoli, salad and baked potato for dinner.  Strawberry cheesecake is what Daddy requested this year so I just picked that up at the Cheesecake factory.  (Kids had sundaes)

After dinner the kids planned a treasure hunt

Ending with a handmade toolbox!

My little man did this ALL MY HIMSELF ~ with power tools!  (I kinda supervised, but didn't touch a thing)

Here they are going through basketball cards

Eden Jamboree

My little man had his first (and last) game of the season today!  His EE team played the Eden Jamboree ~ got creamed, but they were SOOOOO CUTE out there in their borrowed jerseys playing their heart out! :)  We had a very fun day ~

His coach passed out medals

The two #2s!  (Oliver's number is also #2!!  Total coincidence, but Gregory was very excited about playing with the same number as his cousin!)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  We actually celebrated yesterday ~ corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, salad, rice and "Shamrock Shakes" ~ and green rice crispy squares for dessert (Pioneer Woman's recipe with extra marshmallows!!  YUM)
Reason #349 for not getting a dog ~ Can't lie on the grass and just enjoy the blue sky

Daddy playing with every saw and table he owns!

The kids have been busy working on leprechaun traps ~ last night Bailey set Gregory's out and fixed a bowl of food to lure that tricky fellow

There's a whole covered in a cotton cloud and a wooden box underneath to catch him

Front door

(Turn head to read) ~ Well, our buddy Duncan came again, but once again we didn't have any luck trapping him!

Perfect Saturday Night ~

Yesterday we were all set to go out and eat at Koji's for dinner and then we started talking about roasted marshmallows.  Mmmm, roasted marshmallows!  Change of plans ~ Hey, let's order a pizza and sit outside and eat and roast marshmallows for dessert!  Whoo hoo!  Everyone agreed ~ Daddy and Bailey went to pick up pizza and Gregory and I started a fire, made a salad and set up for our party.
Western Day was Friday ~ I forgot to post Bailey dressed as a cowgirl!

Gregory set up the "buffet" table

He also stacked the wood and got the pit ready

After dinner we broke out the marshmallows!  I have NO IDEA how many the kids ate, but I'm thinking around four or five!  EACH!

We roasted until dark when our fire burned out.  Perfect ending to a perfect day!

This morning Bailey's teacher sent me an email inviting me to the life skills assembly.  Our little sweet pea won an award for HONESTY!!  Yay, Sweetie!!

Girls Day (Weekend)!!

This year Daddy was busy building our fence so we couldn't do a family fun activity for Girls Day, but we did squeeze in some fun with a "Mind Blowing" science experiment!  Bailey also got to choose a restaurant for dinner on Saturday and a special dinner for Sunday!  Girls Day ended with a fun treasure hunt Gregory and I set up.  All in all, I think she had a pretty good celebration!
Science experiment

Pretty much came with everything we needed to complete 11 experiments! (we did one)

Pasta Pomodoro Saturday night ~ Bailey's favorite!  AND Cold Stone for dessert.

Aunty Kristin's mochiko chicken (made by mommy) for Sunday dinner

Smile!

Look what I planted!  Actually made two of them to hang on our pergola

Sukiyaki meat for Girls Day

Grape mochi for dessert!  YUM!

Daddy FINISHED!  Well, almost.  One plank is missing ~ Doesn't it look lovely?  Next, I'm putting in a cutting garden! :)

The Trojan Horse

First Saturday of the month, so the kids and Daddy go to the Home Depot kids workshop.  This month the project was a Trojan Horse bank from the soon to be released Peabody and Sherman.
