Rest In Peace Auntie Michiko ~

Yesterday we made a quick trip to LA and back. Yes, all in one day. We left at 4am and arrive back home at 1am ~ It was a long one, but so good to see family down south and celebrate Auntie Michiko's life here on earth.

Before the funeral ~ It was over 100 degrees and very humid in LA!

After the luncheon, we stopped by Shaka's for shave ice to cool down a bit. Hit the spot!!

After the funeral, burial and lunch we kicked back at Bachan and Uncle Denis'' house until 8p. Had fun chatting, snacking and just hanging out! Wish we could've stayed longer, but we will be going back soon!

First Day of SCHOOL!!

It FINALLY came! The first day of school!! WHOOO HOO!! Kids found out who their teachers were yesterday and today was the first day of school!! Bailey's teacher this year is Ms. Johnson. She is new to the school, but has taught for a few years. I'm hoping for a good fit ~ Bailey says she doesn't like young teachers, but since this is her first one, I think she's just used to the old Grandma types. Gregory is in Ms. Ferlazzo's class along with all his buddies. Hope learning will take place. I was chatting with the room mom this morning telling her its going to be a noisy year, but she doesn't seem to think its going to be a problem! I think most of the past room moms in third grade are in that class so she will have LOTS of parent help!!

In the last five weeks, Gregory has lost THREE teeth! I have to cut his apples in small bits now so he can actually chew them!

All Skate!

Bailey's friend is having a skating birthday party in a couple of weeks and since she's never seen a skating rink, we thought we'd take the kids today to try it out! Had a couple spills, but the kids had fun. By the end of the session Gregory was zipping around and Bailey had a good feel for the wheels. (I'll try to post video on Instagram) Neither of them give up so that's what is most important! :) I'm proud of them for all their effort!

Yearly Catch Up Day!

Yesterday my high school buddies all got together for our annual catch up day! We chatted all day (from 10:30a-9:30p), ate lunch and dinner and just had the BEST time!

Triple Threat

Yesterday Gregory and two of his basketball buddies started going to a dribbling and shooting class at Triple Threat Academy in San Ramon. 5 hours a day for 4 days they will be mastering their skills. My little man came home starving and pooped yesterday. Hopefully he'll be in better shape today. I told him we'd go for frozen yogurt afterward so I'm sure he'll be peppy at least until we get home! :)

What a DAY!

Started our day bright and early. Aunty Joey came and picked up the kids at 7:45am so Daddy and I could go to roll sushi for our Summer Festival. Our shift was from 8:30-12p and I couldn't tell you how many makisushi we rolled. Then we drove back and picked up the kids from Aunty and Uncle's house and rushed home so i could fix some food and while we waited for Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Frank to come over. We all drove back to Concord so the kids could make their shifts at 1:55p. This year both of the kids worked the game booths ~ each having two shifts 2-3 and 4-5p. The obon was fun. Ate, chatted and saw basketball friends we haven't seen since the season ended. We came home around 7p and I was asleep by 8p! Today I'm having a lounging day...had to run to the market, but other than than, I'm staying put to recover from our crazy week and get ready for another. :\ (when does school start?!)

So Much Excitement for One Weekend!

I almost forgot to mention! Gregory lost ANOTHER tooth Sunday! Guess all her wants for his birthday are his TWO FRONT TEETH!

Oh So Fun Weekend!

What a weekend!! Started at 5:30am on Friday when Daddy and the kids drove me to the Oakland Airport so I could fly out to Ontario to meet my friend Hyeyon for the weekend! Once I landed, we headed out for VEGAS!! We had a weekend chock full of fun!

As soon as we hit Vegas we went to a Korean Spa to hang out for the afternoon. At the Korean spa you sit in these various hot rooms that make you sweat for different reasons ~ you follow that with a spell in the ice room. They serve food and have relaxing chairs to just hang out and chat or watch tv. VERY FUN!!

Then, we went to check into the Aria. Look at these puffy white clouds all make of REAL FLOWERS!

We went to see this show at Harrahs. Audience filled with old women and maybe three men. Show was HILARIOUS! (Especially since we could relate :\)

Gelato!! OMG I had a scoop of Creme brûlée and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten!!

Went to the Aria Spa and spent the morning and most of Saturday afternoon there. We hung out at the jacuzzi's (different temps), dry sauna, eucalyptus steam room, pool, shio rorm and I can't remember the last one...some Japanese type room with marble heated beds you lay on. Once we made a couple of rounds doing that we had a very nice massage, took a shower and headed back to our room to get ready for....
