Movie Nite

Our house came with a home theater system and Daddy has been busy putting all the wires in the walls and cleaning it all up. This afternoon we ran to Target to pick up a family fun movie and after dinner tonight Daddy got it all finished! Now the kids are sitting in the dark watching their first movie ~ Ponyo!

Dublin SPCA

Today Auntie Joey asked us if we wanted to join them on a field trip to the SPCA in Dublin. So we packed up some snacks (we never travel without food) and headed out to visit all the little homeless (adoptable) cats and dogs.

Here we are!
(With our snack bags)

Camryn did a great job showing us the ropes since this was our first trip out there. It's a really nice facility.

This is Marilyn. I wanted to take her home. Such a cutie pie - poodle and cocker spaniel mix. One of the workers was also falling in love with her and thinking about taking her home too. Hopefully, she won't be there long.

Luke looking like Gregory used to in the stroller saying,
"I want out folks!"

SNACK TIME!

The Boys

This is the pug Bailey wanted to take home. Unfortunately, she doesn't do well with kids under 12. I think we need to stick to visiting the fish store or I will be taking one or two of these cuties home with us.

Abraham Lincoln's Hoe Cake

For homework this month, Bailey had to make Hoe Cakes.

Gregory not too happy about not being
able to make hoe cakes on his own.

But he helped out

Long ago, people used to cook these cakes on their hoe!
Hence, "Hoe" cake.

Bailey said they were delicious!
Especially with maple syrup

Gregory said he didn't like hoe cakes,
but he ate the most! (I think he ate four!)

Look at this! Forecast says we may get SNOW here! We covered our newly sprouted peonies and wrapped up our faucets just in case!

DOUGHNUTS!

Today Gregory and I went to Whole Foods to do our allergy shopping and guess what we found!? Vegan Doughnuts! Bailey has never had a doughnut. I've got a great looking recipe that I've been holding on to, but geez, doughnuts are just a whole lot of work and you have to deep fry them and ...well, I just haven't made them for her. So, we picked up two apple doughnuts and brought them home for her (and Gregory) to try after she got home from school.

YUM!

They look yummy and they were very moist and tender

Scooter has had many doughnuts,
but he enjoyed his special treat too.

"It's a Magical Land"

Our laundry room, that is...according to our kiddies.

Daddy put a nice coat of periwinkle on our laundry room walls today and the kids turned it into a "magical land"! I just love it! It'll sure bring lots of smiles ~

Did it bring a smile to your face? I bet it did!

100th Day of School!

Tomorrow is Bailey's 100th day of school and for the 100th day each child was to make something with 100 items.

Bailey made a beautiful flower with 100 petals!

Notice the little bee flying near the flower? :)

Superbowl Sunday!

Every year at this time, Uncle Ryan and Aunty Joey throw their Superbowl Party! I don't care about the football game, but I do look forward to getting together for the Superbowl, chit-chatting and eating! Daddy stayed home to work without us bothering him and the kids and I went and had a great time!

Doesn't look like too many people are
interested in the halftime show

Yummy dinner

See those huge cupcakes on the top?!
Aunty Joey found great vegan cupcakes for the girls!

Rainbow Finger Jello

I've been looking for a layered finger jello that doesn't have any dairy and here is what I found! Love it!

Rainbow Finger Jello

You'll need a 6oz box of Red, Yellow and Blue jello, one box of Knox gelatin and water!
For each layer (start with red and end with blue)
Mix 1/2 c cold water with 1 pkg of Knox
Add Jello and 1 1/2 c boiling water - Stir until dissolved
Add 1/2 c ice and mix to cool
Pour into 9x13 pan (recipe says to oil, but I didn't and it was fine)
Let each layer set for about 20 minutes in the refrigerator before adding next layer.

Make a day ahead so the colors have a chance to mix - yesterday I was thinking I musta waited too long before I added my next layer because the colors didn't seem to mix, but today...just beautiful!

Slice into shapes and enjoy!

Close Up - Isn't it pretty?

BINGO Night

Tonight Bailey's school had a Candyland BINGO Night. Bailey asked Daddy to come home early so we could all go and play Bingo. He tried his best and was actually able to make it home by 6:30p! He quickly ate dinner and off we went. Well, bingo started at 7pm (a little late for us) so the kids played about 5 games and wanted to go to sleep. We left a little before 8p, went home and they hopped into their pjs and went to bed. Fridays are a little hard for us to be out so late, but the kids said they had a fun time anyways.

Guess I forgot to wipe Scooter's face before we left!
