Brownie Picnic

Today our Brownie troop had it's picnic day!  I'm still out of commission so Clark took the kids and they had quite the fun afternoon!  Hotdog picnic, games and badge ceremony, too!  Bummed I missed it!

Bailey received 6 badges this year!
We had a very creative mom and she put these cute vests together for the girls

Father's Day Weekend

We had a fun, busy weekend!  Of course we have to start the weekend by mentioning the Kings win.  Highlight here at the Katayama house.  Lots of screaming and celebrating included.  Then Saturday morning we drove to Brentwood to pick Blenheim apricots from the Farmer's Daughter U-pick Farm.  We managed to pick 30 pounds of the most delicious apricots!  Then we headed out to Stockton for an afternoon of swimming and BBQ Father's Day dinner.  Daddy did some work on Hi-bachan's bathroom ~ the old rose wallpaper was just driving him crazy so he took it down and spackled (sp?) and painted the walls.  We went back to Stockton again Sunday so he could finish up and to bring Gregory home, too!  He had planned to stay until Friday, but missed me!  (Hah, actually he missed Bailey and was lonely without her)  They will both have a sleepover on Thursday night though!  While Daddy worked at Hi-bachan's, Grandma and I made 10 batches of jam with our yummy apricots!
The have wagons and buckets for the pickers!

Holding Back the Tears

Today was the last full day of school!  Tomorrow we get out at noon and it basically just a goof-around day for the kids.  Today we started out of day with Gregory's VIP (Very Important Parent) breakfast and in the afternoon we ended the school day with Bailey's "Vacation to Mars" play!  Now that Daddy only works four days a week, he was able to come join in the festivities so it was all around a very special day!

She had a singing part (with a mic!) and did a GREAT job!  We are so proud of her!

First Saturday of the Month

We had a busy first Saturday of the month for June!  Bailey had a party this morning so Gregory picked up a Home Depot project kit for the two of them and they worked on it at home.  Daddy and I worked in the garden.  Had to thin out our zinnias and clean up here and there.  AND we celebrated my birthday!  Well, kinda....We had planned to go out to eat at Lark Creek, but those darn Kings are playing today and the game started at 4pm so we are tethered to the TV.  Maybe tomorrow or another night.  I want prime rib so I think we'll go on another Saturday (since that is the only day they serve it).  We had a nice BBQ steak dinner and a yummy Just Desserts chocolate cake!  Yummo!!

We planted four varieties of black eyed susan.  Here's one...

and another....

We have a few varieties of echinacea, but I'm still looking for more

Painting the Home Depot project ~ now they don't get to do this at Home Depot!

My little warthog

This afternoon Gregory had his first grade play performance.  They performed "Anansi and the Talking Melon"  He made quite the cute little warthog.  He was nervous this morning, but he did a great job and ended up having a good time doing it!

Did I mention there are 3 1/2 more days of school?!?
