FUN in the SUN!

Happy Memorial Day!

Yesterday we had a FUN IN THE SUN day!  Camryn and Lukie came over in the morning and we walked to the school to ride bikes and scooters ~ For lunch, we packed a picnic and headed out to the Art and Wind festival.  We watched the kite flyers while we ate and made a pretty cool kite afterwards. Then, we decided to go and visit Grandpa and Grandma!  We packed our suits and headed to Stockton where we finished off our day of FUN IN THE SUN!

At one point they had 7 kites up at once

Working on kites

Here they are flying their kites ~ They were able to get them pretty high!

The water was chilly, but it didn't seem to bother them

Grandpa and Grandma also purchased a new set of motorized boats that shoot water, but I forgot to take pictures!!  Next time ~ they had a GREAT time with them!

Here is Grandpa's 2013 garden.  Well, some of it.  I didn't take pictures of the back cuz I didn't want to get my shoes muddy.  Everything is growing well!  Can't wait for harvest time! :)

Bubbletastic Day!

We had a bubbletastic (as Gregory puts it) day today!
This morning I went to OSH to get supplies to make GIANT bubble wands

I also made a batch of GIANT bubble solution

And this is what we did for about FOUR hours today

We made some GIGANTIC bubbles

Here's Daddy working on getting the ground ready for the new sod

Took a bit to get the hang of it all, but LOOK

Great fun

FOUR hours worth!

Daddy even got in on the fun

Then we made snake bubbles

This ended up being quite a hit.  Like making snow!  Bailey called it Sprinter (Spring and Winter)  We'll be keeping this on the "To-Do" summer list! :)

Bubble Solution

12 cups water
1 c Dawn
1 c cornstarch (dissolve in one cup of the 12 cups of water first)
2 T baking powder
3 T glycerine (I got it at a pharmacy ~ they don't carry at CVS)

Mix it all together and let it sit for an hour

My Favorite Day of the (SCHOOL) Year!

Tonight was Open House at Golden View and Daddy and I just LOVED IT!  The kids had a great year full of learning!

The evening started with a musical performance by the second graders.  Here's Bailey with her buddy Aleeza
