Jack-O-Pepper

This week Safeway had a sale on orange bell peppers. Hmmm, what to do with an oh so colorful pepper? Stuff them and cut out a happy jack-o-lantern face to get ready for the upcoming spooky holiday!

Brown 1 pound of ground beef & 1/3 c diced onion in 1T oil. Add a 1 pound can of stewed tomatoes, 1 cup cooked rice, 2 T Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Cover & simmer for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of cheese. Stuff peppers and top with additional cheese. Bake 25 minutes at 350 degrees.

Joan's Farm

Today we went to Joan's Farm in Livermore with Uncle Ryan, Aunty Joey and Camryn to pick our Halloween pumpkins! The kids all had a great time feeding the animals and picking out their favorite pumpkins. This year we ended up with 2 big pumpkins, 1 small (for our Halloween meatloaf) and 1 tiny (Bailey thought it was so cute).

Scooter Ride Anyone?

Gregory has been wanting a scooter for some time now. We were worried if he got one Bailey would want one and it'd be dangerous for her to ride, but I chatted with her physical therapist and she thought it'd be the best thing for her balance. So today, Grandma and Grandpa bought scooters and gear for their birthdays! They are having the best time learning to ride. (and doing really well!)

Yes, it's dark outside! After dinner they put their gear back on and started practicing some more.

May You Rest in Peace Grams

We had a beautiful heartfelt memorial service for Grams this past weekend. All of her grandchildren shared memories and we all worked together creating a very touching slide show. After the service and a nice lunch at the church our immediate family and my uncle's drove to the cemetery for her committal. I'm sure she was smiling down at us from her new home in Heaven.

Crepe Paper Pumpkin

I found these cute little crepe paper pumpkins on a blog I was reading and thought they were so cute! I've been in search for crepe paper folds since. Well, Clark finally tracked some down for me at a little shop in Berkeley!

Double sided crepe paper fold

Make a cone shape and I put one of Bailey's hair pony tails on to hold it together

Inside it out and shape into a pumpkin

Fill will Halloween goodies! Tie them with a pipe cleaner and wrap the top with florist tape.

Ta da! Aren't they cute?
