Wooden Egg Coloring

The kids have been dying to work on a craft project for Easter so today we painted wooden eggs!

The weather was nice today so we set up a table outside and got to work

Wooden eggs, watercolor paint, brush and a bowl of water is all you need

Two of Bailey's beautiful eggs

Here are Gregory's

Project #2 - I wanted to make coffee filter flowers with the left over egg dye (always seems like such a waste to toss all the colors) next week so we did a test to see how they work.

You need to color 5 coffee filters - today we used water color paint

Then you fold them accordion style, fasten them with a pipe cleaner and open them up. Lovely! :)

The Spaghetti Feed

Every year we look forward to going to the Calvary Church Spaghetti Feed! Most people would be going for the all you can eat food, but we go for the RAFFLE! Usually they have one great prize - flat screen tv - and a bunch of other goodies to choose from. You put your ticket into a box and they draw for each prize individually. LOVE IT.

This year we didn't win anything, but Grandma and Grandpa one two lovely prizes!

We (mainly me) was hoping to win those Christmas trees behind Bailey. We didn't, but Daddy said he and Bailey will make a set for our home.

Gregory was hoping to win the Giants basket! We didn't, but maybe we'll go to a bobble head game this year.

Okay, first of two lovely gifts Grandma and Grandpa won and so kindly gave to Gregory. See how proud he looks next to that candle (that really is about his size)? He chatted about it almost all the way home - his plans for it, when we should light it, where it should go, what happens to the wick when it gets lit, on and on - and woke up when we got home to see where his candle was. He has big plans for that thing! (Side note: the thing is DUSTY! Musta been sitting in someone's house for a long time and they decided - OH, this is the perfect time to donate it) (Side note number 2: Grandma and Grandpa didn't put their tickets in the boxes, they let the kids do it - in case you were wondering how their ticket got in this particular box)

And here's the other prize Grandma and Grandpa won. They had a lucky night and we all had a very fun time! Can't wait for next years!

Field Trip!

Today I took the kids on a little field trip to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield!

We learned how one of my favorite candy treats are made AND now that they stopped using peanuts in their factory, the kids can enjoy them with me! :) They enjoyed tasting all the stages of a jelly bean and even got a bag of candy to take home with them. Pretty nice for a free tour!

Jelly Belly all decked out for Easter!

Everyone has to wear a Jelly Belly hat during the tour

Kids wanted to take photos outside
by the Jelly Belly RV...

...And VW! (No cameras allowed in the factory)
