Gregory's "Meet and Greet" his NEW TEACHER!

This afternoon Gregory got to meet his new kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Judice!  He will be one of ten kindergarteners in a K/1 combo class.  We are quite excited about the upcoming school year!  It's going to be a fun one!

Bailey also found out she has TWO teachers this year.  She will be in Mrs. Stifter and Mrs. Pardo's second grade class.  We hear Mrs. Stifter is a very sweet teacher and we are sooo happy to be in her class.  Mrs. Pardo will work one day a week in her class and we think two days in kindergarten. (??)

Tomorrow is the big first day of school!  We laid out our outfits, we have our backpack hanging on our hook, Daddy took the day off and we are all looking forward to walking to school tomorrow morning!  School starts at 8:20am for Gregory and 8:35am for Bailey so Mommy better go to bed early so she can wake up!

Special Dessert Day!

While the boys tore up our backyard, Bailey and I decided to make a special dessert!

Daddy's not happy with our backyard.
So he wants to start from scratch.
Now he and Gregory have to remove all the plants,
flagstone and deck so they can start anew.
(This is gonna take a LONG time!)
Back to our dessert ~ We took graham pie crust...

...filled them with melted chocolate chips...

...added some ice cream ~ popped them in the freezer...

...and topped them with marshmallows.

And let Daddy toast them along with a
creme brûlée I made earlier.

Daddy having too much fun with the torch.

Smore ice cream pie!

YUM!

Happy 11th Anniversary, Daddy! :)

End of Summer Fun

Summer is quickly coming to an end so today we had a mishmash day of fun! This morning we ran to Walmart to pick up some school supplies and the kids wanted to stop off at Joann's to pick up an art project.

Bailey got a tea set kit.
Gregory got a foam flyer kit.
They painted...

...and painted...
...until Bailey had her tea set complete
and Gregory had four planes decorated.

Side photo ~
Gregory went to visit the farm last school year and
brought home a pitiful tomato and basil plant.
We never expected it to live.  But, it's HUGE and
has lots of tomatoes.  The basil is in the center
(we didn't even bother to separate them!)

We planted a bunch of pumpkins a few weeks ago ~
only two have sprouted so far.
Hopefully, we will get at least two pumpkins!

While Bailey was busy reading, Gregory
and I made some chocolate mint ice cream!
A few marshmallows and soy creamer.

Microwave a bit.

Oh shoot!
I just realized we didn't add the oil!

Freezing up nicely in our ice cream maker.

"Sweets" tasting our creation.

We only used 1/2 the recommended amount
of peppermint oil and boy is it minty!

Last Trip of the Summer

Well, summer is coming to an end.  We have one more week of summer vacation and the kids will go back to school on the 28th!  We were able to squeeze in one more trip to LA before we pop back into our normal routine!  As always, we had a great time.  Saturday we took the kids to the California Science Center.  This was our first time there and the kids LOVED it!  What a perfect place to visit.  AND so much to do!  We spent over three hours there and we could've stayed much longer if Daddy and Mommy weren't so tired.  After visiting the center we went to Bachan and Grandpa's house and had the most fun with everyone!  Auntie Lynn and Bachan made a yummy dinner and Auntie had a couple craft projects for us too!  Sunday we had breakfast with Mrs. Takahashi and even got to see Uncle Scotty and his family for a bit too!  We had lunch at Bachan and Grandpa's and headed back home around 3pm.  It was a jam packed fun weekend ~ a perfect way for us to end the summer!

Fun Day in Stockton

Well, today the kids had a fun filled day in Stockton with their cousins, Oliver and Emma. This is Oliver and Emma's week to spend at Grandpa and Grandma's house so we thought we'd join them for the day.  First we went to the zoo to feed the lorikeets, came home for lunch and went for an afternoon swim.  We had a snack after swimming, followed by a bit of trading Pokemon cards and crafts. Uncle Frank and Aunty Ruth joined us for dinner and we ended the day with more swimming.  I think they will all sleep well tonight!  (Me, too)

Oliver, too!

Grandma had THREE birds feeding from her cup!

Here's Bailey with a bird perched on her hand.

Emma looks like she's about out of nectar.

CRAFT TIME!

Grandma had a box of craft projects for the kids to work on.
I can't remember the name of this one.
