Lawn Update

New lawn looks beautiful!  Daddy is moving along ~ said these rolls are much heavier (and larger) than the Home Depot sod so he's getting a workout.  Neighbors are giving him LOTS of breaks.  I think he ends up chatting 10 minutes for every 20 minutes of work.  He likes to get the scoop so he doesn't mind.
So far 1 1/2 pallets are done

Doesn't it look lovely?!

Now he is thinking he'll have to redo all this

Stuff going on...

Daddy ordered 1100 square feet of sod and it got delivered today around 1pm.  Looks beautiful, but Daddy has a project ahead of him!
First row is laid ~ Piece of cake!

Check out all those rolls

We have more~

Lots of ground to cover!  Good thing it is COOL today!  Low 80s if you can believe it!

Here's the rest of it!  Sure is a lot of lawn.  This HUGE semi truck (? Had a flatbed) came to deliver it

My little man is sick ~

Okay, see this sign?  Well, Zillow had our house listed for sale for a week and we are having an "Open House" on Sunday!  Our realtor said we should post a sign just in case people come because they will just walk into your house and start looking around.  Let me tell you, it is a lot harder to remove a listing from Zillow than you think.  We had to find the realtor who listed it and have her remove it and then I had to get Zillow to remove the Open House since she didn't do that.  HUGE HEADACHE!  (And someone did ask Clark if our house is for sale last weekend so someone did see the listing ~ let's hope no one barges into our house or backyard on Sunday!)

Oh Daddy is moving along!

Cuz he has a little helper!!  (Bailey has been quite busy today!  She also helped me make red, white and blue candy, finger jello and rice krispie squares this morning!)

Happy 4th!

Yesterday I called six U-Pick farms in our area and I found out I totally missed the Blenheim apricot season and only one farm even had apricots!  When I chatted with the lady she didn't know how long she'd even have apricots with the heat we are having so this morning we decided to go and check them out.  Well, we get to the stand and they don't have any cases of apricots left (like they did yesterday), but they did have one box of over-ripe apricots (which were looking kind of muddy).  Well, I decided I'd better get them and we'll see how jam making goes later this week. (???)  While we were there, we also decided to pick some peaches and nectarines.
This is the same farm Gregory visited with his class

We came home and Daddy worked on prepping the dirt for our sod delivery tomorrow while the kids played with the water balloons and got soaked.  Then we decided to call Grandma and Grandpa to see what they were up to and find out if we could come over for a swim!  They said to come on over so we hopped into the car and headed for Stockton.  The kids and Daddy swam and once the sun set we had the best fireworks show ever!

Balloon Races

Let the games begin!

Today was suppose to be a field trip day, but BART is on strike and the freeways are PACKED!  Took Daddy 2 hours to get to work this morning and he left at 5:30AM!  Anyways, we took a "field trip" to Walmart and Ranch 99 and came home to have Balloon Races!
On your mark...

Bailey won 9 races

Gregory won two

Summer Monday ~ Art & Science Day!

Our "scheduled" summer has begun.  Today is "Art & Science" day so we worked on our 4th of July t-shirts!

Rubber band some cups/containers to the shirt

Break out the Sharpies

Make a design

Dab with rubbing alcohol

And FIREWORKS

The kids worked on the on and off all day

They came up with some pretty neat "fireworks"

Here's Gregory's

And Bailey's ~ aren't the neato??!  (You'll have to check out the backs in person!)
