S'mores

Have you ever made a s'more in the microwave??

So easy and such a TASTY treat! All you need to do is crack a graham cracker in half, top one half with one large marshmallow (don't be tempted to put two!) and we sprinkled a few allergy chocolate chips on the top. Pop them in the microwave for 15-20 seconds - or until they puff (and they puff up quite a bit!) Top the marshmallow with the other 1/2 of the graham cracker and enjoy. Of course I forgot to take a photo of the thing and didn't remember until Bailey showed me her sticky hands. So you have the end result of our s'more treats! :)

Cookies for Santa (and the rest of us, too!)

Well, Santa needs a plate of allergy free cookies so today and this past Saturday we baked. For all of you who don't know, I'm not much of a baker. Takes an awful lot of patience and measuring - two things that aren't me. Anyways, I searched on the internet for vegan cookie recipes and found a few that looked promising.

Saturday we made chocolate chip (more like very light scones), oatmeal (fat free!) and gingerbread dough. Bailey helped with the chocolate chip cookies and after that decided she needed to hang out with Daddy. Gregory stayed and help me with the rest.

Today we baked the gingerbread men and decorated a few of them too. To be honest, we had to do our baking this past weekend because Bailey is going to read the Gingerbread Man at school this week and they are going to bake and taste gingerbread! Since she won't be able to join in at school, I wanted her to still have to experience and I'll send her to school with one of our cookies so she'll get to snack with the rest of them.

I didn't take any photos of us working on Saturday, but I took a few from today. AND we froze a bag so Santa will have cookies when he stops by on Christmas! :)

Oatmeal cookies - These are SO YUMMY. Clark says he can polish off the whole bag.

Chocolate chip cookies - Don't they look like scones? Not what I was expecting, but the kids love them.

Here she is decorating her cookie. I put the frosting
in a zip lock so they could use it like a pastry bag,
but I need a better recipe for the frosting.

Happy First Birthday, Camryn!

Today we celebrated Camryn's first birthday! We had a yummy lunch at Uncle Yu's restaurant and cake at Uncle Ryan and Auntie Joey's house. The kids all had fun playing together and the men all watched football while the women chatted. Nice afternoon.

A Visit to the Park

Today we took a break from the hustle and bustle of the holidays and went to the park near our home and played and played and played. The kids had a great time and I have to say, the weather was just perfect! You'd think it was spring time instead of the middle of winter. We should've packed a picnic! Next time...

Snowpuff

Today while Bailey was at preschool, Gregory and I went to Michaels to pick up some wooden hearts and gems so Bailey could make some Christmas gifts for her teachers. While we were there we found these snowman for 99 cents! We put them together before dinner.

Bailey decided she needed a pajama day
after she got home from school.

They'll eventually have top hats on top of their heads ~ They are drying - it took me FOREVER to put them together. Guess when they say to use hot glue they mean it won't stay together with white glue. And I say, who wants to have a hot glue gun out when they are working on a craft project with kids?!
