Outdoor Projects

The weather was beautiful this morning and that was a good thing because we need to fix our fence! (Well, Daddy needed to fix our fence) We have 30 days to fix our fence - we had - now we have a couple of weeks. Personally, I think our fence looks fine, but since we live in an area with a HOA we need to redo our fence when the rest of the street does. Sooo, Clark has a new home improvement project to work on.

While Daddy was working on the fence, I had the kids working on a project too. We made some bathroom stools today. Daddy cut some wood and the kids primed and painted them. Daddy is going to work on adding the legs later.

Here's Bailey's!

I let them decorate their stools with stickers after it dried and I wish I hadn't. They are still cute, but I liked them much better with just paint. Tomorrow I'm going to spray them with clear coat...

Bailey's First Swimming Lesson!

logo-asa.gif

Yesterday Miss Bailey started swim lessons at the American Swim Academy! We've been on a wait list for some time now at TWO swim schools in our area and finally we got a call last week to say there was an opening in the Tuesday class at 10am! Fits just perfectly in our schedule and Bailey just LOVES it! She has already learned to float on her back (assisted), blow bubbles and push off the wall, hold her breath and "swim" to her teacher! They keep the water at 92 degrees, the pool is indoors and they have bleachers for Mommy to hang out on while waiting. What more could we ask for? (A picture of Bailey swimming would've been nice!)

Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Tonight we celebrated Grandma's birthday! We all went out to eat at this Japanese restaurant in Stockton and went back to Grandpa and Grandma's house for cake. Take a peek at the slide show to see all the fun!

Gloomy Days

We've had a couple of gloomy days lately so we've been working on gloomy day projects. We got this great play dough recipe from school so we made a batch yesterday and spent a couple of hours playing with it. Today we worked on scrap booking photos from our fun Spring Break.

Here's the play dough recipe
3 1/2 c flour
2T cream of tartar
2 cups salt
4 cups water
5T oil
food coloring

Mix ingredients together and cook on medium high heat until the mixture forms a lump (Stirring constantly.) Knead a bit and enjoy! This makes a LOT of dough! :)

Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Factory

Today we took the kids to see Mrs. Grossman's Sticker Factory in Petaluma. Not really what I had expected, but I think they had fun. The tour of the factory is not so exciting for a kid. They start with a rather long video (in a freezing cold room) and then we walk around and see where the stickers are made (basically just looking at the equipment) But! after the tour you go to a room and they give you a sack of stickers and a postcard so everyone can decorate! And after that you can shop in their company store. Kind of a long drive just for that, but you can get some really good deals on stickers. And what kid doesn't love a stack of stickers?? We packed a picnic lunch to eat in Petaluma, but since the Masters started this morning we ate in the car instead.

We couldn't take any photos on the tour, but here we are working on our postcards
See all the stickers you get!
