God's Angel

This morning Grams entered the gates of Heaven. She died peacefully at 96 years old and she will be missed more than words can express. We hold many wonderful memories of our time here together on earth and she will always live within our hearts.

Another visit to see the Lorikeets!

The lorikeets are leaving the zoo soon so today the kids went to feed them one more time.

Bailey was so happy TWO birds came to her this time!

Gregory said the lorikeet bird spilled his first cup of nectar - just tried to bite the cup from his hand!

Okay, I'm not sure why, but birds just LOVE DADDY! It's really the funniest thing!

Now he has THREE birds on him! One bird did bite him though.

Bailey's First Day of School

This morning we dropped Daddy and Gregory off at the park and Bailey and I went to school! It was so nice too see all of Bailey's old friends from last year. Bailey played while I chatted with the moms. I probably had as much fun as she did! This year her small group teacher is Suzy! She's with five of the six kids she was with last year, plus one new little boy. It's going to be another great year for her!

Gregory Started School Today!

Yesterday Gregory's small group teacher came over to our house to introduce herself and meet Gregory. Her name is Omneya and she brought over a nice Meadowlark t-shirt, parent handbook and a new book for Gregory with her. She read the new story, played with the kids for a bit and we chatted. I love that this school does home visits! It really helps the kids feel comfortable about starting school.

Today was the first day of school. (It was actually a visitation day.) I was able to stay with Gregory and school only lasted 1 hour. We looked for his cubby, played and had a circle time. Fun time. This year Gregory will have 4 people in his small group. There will be four teachers and one parent volunteer for 18 kids! Love it! He is just going to have a great year.

Would've been nice to take a picture of his new teacher! Had the camera all ready and didn't remember until she left! UGH.

Happy First Day!

Pie on a Stick

In need of a quick, easy and quite cute dessert? Make little pies on a stick! I've run across these cuties on a few blogs lately so yesterday the kids and I decided to whip up a batch. All you need is a package of Pillsbury Pie Crust, sticks, and some type of filling to put in them. We used apricot jam and chocolate chips. Top with a little icing and enjoy!

Bailey rolling the dough - get it as thin as you can without tearing

Gregory's turn

Here's Bailey's all nicely filled and crimped

Gregory working on crimping his pie

Bake them at 375 for 10-15 minutes (Toaster oven works quite well since you only get 8 little pies from one dough)

Add a little icing - we squeezed it on using a zip lock bag with a hole cut out

Can I eat it now?

These are yummy!
